Wow...and they have 100% positive feedback, so I would not think they'd try and not ship either...

I don't even see how that happened. I've been watching most of these.. wonder if there was an ebay error that prevented that auction from showing for most people?

I believe someone else said it was a mistaken BIN - probably meant to price it at $250 and left off a zero.

Normally, I would agree Ed but I'll have to disagree with you on this one. I deal with some big players in the retail coin market regularly and no one anticipated the amount of demand that these coins have received. Several of my larger dealer contacts are buying them up left and right. This isn't a normal issue or even a regular "flipper" frenzy. Dealers are now beginning to vend these coins in China for handsome profits. I hear there are a lot of baseball fans there too.

You never know, the Buffalo Dollars did well, with a higher mintage. Granted, the Buffalo design is popular, yet, the HOF is unique. I’m just not willing to rely on the baseball theme making it a long term success. None of the other baseball coins have been big winners.

    ???

This doesn't make sense to me. Two of those were Olympic coins, no one watches Olympic baseball to the point that Olympic baseball doesn't exist anymore. The third one is the Jackie Robinson, which while a significant baseball figure is not that popular, the gold coin sells for $500-$600 raw.

Yeah, and the unc Jackie gold sells for around $3,000, which is the highest price for a $5 gold commem, because it's the lowest mintage. Although the HOF theme may add some demand, the largest draw is the curved coin, which may not be unique down the road.

I was very wrong. I never thought that the mint would sell out on 400,000 90% silver dollars. The prices have not only remained strong, but they appear to be going up. I ordered a silver and gold proof for my own collection, but then I saw what others were paying for these coins on ebay.
I put my Silver Proof 4 sale on ebay last week and with one day remaining it is already more than double the $52 I paid the Mint. Crazy!
My gold proof is estimated to be shipped by the Mint in six weeks. I hope the prices/demand can wait for me to sell it.
I wish I would have backed up my truck and ordered much more when I had the chance. Hindsight is always 20/20. :>)

Although not advisable with a sell out like this, I returned all 5 unc silver, as they were all damaged and/or less than 69’s and I just couldn’t live with them. I went through the same thing with the Franklin Dollars and after returning all 3 times, progressively received worse coins each time, until the mint lost my order. However, I just received the replacements and WOW - 3 are 70’s and 2 are 69’s, very happy.

Both the unc and proof silver dollar were supposed to ship out tomorrow and have been listed as back ordered. I just checked and the proof is still back ordered now till 8/21 and the Unc till 9/4.

I'm happy I'm getting them but this is a little disappointing.

WOW! Looks like the silver dollars are getting a bump today. Auctions ending soon on eBay have been bid up to over $150 and some close to $200 for coins in ogp.

I just saw that too! Wow! These are turning out to be way better than the 2011 ASE set for flips. The demand continues to rise.

  20. If you have these silver HOF coins, now is certainly the time to sell. When the US Mint resumes delivery these will flood the market and reduce prices.

Who would have thought that the silver proofs would be going for $200. My order has been delayed to 6 June. I'm almost tempted to resell it if these prices stay at these inflated levels. When everyone starts getting them from the mint, I can see only one place that the prices are heading and that is down.
