Selling hits a Roadblock

1000 is overkill. You'd lose productive members from boredom, waiting for the privilege. Increasing it to anything more than 10, will lead to a few headcases polluting threads with, lets say 100, posts that look like this... Great!, Nice!, Cool!, +1, Wow!, etc. All this in an effort to present us with the opportunity of buying what he/she does not want and usually very few would want to pay for.

Then you'll get PM's asking you to "trade likes" and people registering shill accounts to bump their "like" count and who knows what else. Whatever the requirement is, people will find creative ways to get around it.

 

The problem is that everybody asks for too much. You all know the famous Wall Street saying, "Bulls Make Money, Bears Make Money, Pigs Get Slaughtered." Everything I post on CT sells. Often times my stuff sells within a day or two. I price everything really fairly and I am still able to turn a profit. Try it. It feels good to give people a deal, and you will still make money and keep the cash flowing!

 

Not everybody, but, some of the guys should really stop buying at retail, before trying to mark it up here on CT. It makes me want to giggle...

 

Agreed, it's definitely not everybody. Just a little run of the mill hyperbole.

 

When I try to go to the for sale I get the following message.

I assumed that I had not yet reached some preset criterion to get access priviledges

 

For the record, I have sold almost every single item I have ever listed in the for sale section.

It's not so much that the money is there, times are tough everywhere, entire Euro Zone included. I think it's more of an interest factor. I've been finding it very easy to swap US and Canadian coinage overseas. How much US change can you really expect to sell to an American, or how much Canadian change can you expect a Canadian to buy? I also spend my fair share on Euro coinage, mostly because I find it to be unique and it isn't readily available on my doorstep. Trying to unload $18 ungraded UNC Wheats or lots of worn Wheats on Americans, just doesn't seem like a fruitful idea. Especially when I can find the same UNC cent in a slab (PCGS, NGC) for $12-$15 and I get most of my worn wheats for $0.04 - $0.o5 a piece in friendly swaps.

OK guys and gals, let's see some great deals in the For Sale section this weekend.
If everyone lists some things at nice prices maybe we can get this thing going.
And don't be afraid to ship overseas, it's easy with the online shipping.

 

Me too I don't buy on ebay but I've bought a few great things on ct and made a few contacts that usually just sell to me direct now if more people posted great early coins for sale for fair prices I might buy more. It can be tough tho I haunt ha and stacks regularly as well as the ct sale forum and the cu for sale and local auctions with all that who needs feebay
