Just received an Email from NGC explaining the new fees effective now and June 1st. Read all about it here and then tell me what you think.

Got the same email, but it was mid-late last week. Was wondering when it was going to be discussed. I guess I got the notice earlier than some/most. Now I know why. Should make for interesting conversation, seeing a lot base their decision to use NGC simply for the cheaper pricing. Now, there's just a $2 difference for economy in U.S. coins. With PCGS coins GENERALLY fetching more $ (beans and stars excluded) , for $2 more, why not put it in the slab that'll bring more $$?? (I know I'll get some 'counterpoints', but, for $2, WTH not?)

great input. The thing with the $2 is if you have 1 $2 bill you can turn the bills serials gold and sell it for $200

But seriously I do not think this is really the best move for NGC. Now I think the people who will use NGC are the collectors/dealers who only deal with NGC or collectors/dealers that have toned coins that they think PCGS wouldn't grade.

I've never sent coins in for submission, being of the mind, if I want a graded coin I'll buy one. With that said, I would use the service that partnered with the ANA, and in this case it's NGC.

NGC in Europe has higher fees as they ship all coins to their HQ for grading - that means we're paying more although it takes longer to get them back. So you shouldn't complain too much ;-)

Yeah that is true. Does NGC have Authorized Dealers in Europe? I know PCGS has them all over the world.

If by "partnered" you mean the service that was willing to pay the most for the "endorsement", then yes... that's NGC.

I got the email last week or the week before and I sent off a bunch of world coins last week to beat the increase. Have more that will go in hopefully by this Friday.
