I figure this will be an interesting topic. If you had only $100 to spend, what would you buy? Im not asking for my personal knowledge, i just want to see the different opinions. Choose a coin or multiple coins. Please dont just list a bunch of books to buy, i agree knowledge is the best investment, its just not where i want to take this..... Thanks!!!
I knowi spelled WOULD wrong... it KILLS me and i cant figure out how to change the title......thanks for pointing it out......jk
You can't, unless you message a Mod. No worries, I knew what you meant but just couldn't resist a friendly poke. Done it before myself........
If I had $100 to blow on anything, I would look for a Mint-sealed bag of same date/mm Lincoln cents or Jefferson nickels from the 60's or 70's. I like searching for varieties and errors, and with all of the coins being the same date/mm, if you happen to find one (like a doubled die or clash) you're likely to find multiples of it. Chris
I would go with a classic commemorative. There are plenty to choose from at that price in the MS60-MS64 range. You could buy a nice Morgan for $100 as well but I think those are very common compared to the commemoratives. Just be sure to a coin that is PCGS or NGC certified.
How timely I saw this. My son gave me a $100 gift certificate at a coin store for my birthday a few months ago. He finally said he could take me to redeem it next Saturday. I haven't a clue what to buy. Guess I'll know when I see it ?
I think I would by "coins"...Star Spangled Banner proof and uncirculated commemorative have been drawing my eye for some time but I'm having trouble buying as they are not any part of a series of which I'm currently working.
