First I have not posted my roll hunts here as that belongs somewhere else. Lets just say that I got (9) 40% ers yesterday and the wife won 6-3.

However we got some nice extras.....

First, a greaser (I think). I looked and I can not see that it is PMD. The wife and I looked hard with the loupes and we can see no issue. This coin was stamped with whatever it was. Details are fair as you can see and the reverse confirms the grease issue. I could be wrong so I posted to get opinions.

Second when all else fails, besides the silver I got a 82NoFG that is in great shape.

Congrats on both. Now, you need to acquire the 1972-D No FG which is light years more difficult than either 1982 coin.

    I have 2!

And a 1990, and one other that I can not remember in this inebriated state.

State of inebriation. Is that akin to late die state? devil.gif

Yes. The 72-D is littered with grease filled No FG coins as there is only 1 die pair.
There are specific obverse die markers which indicate a legitimate 1972-D No FG.

Ok I will but I would like to learn more details. I am going to look for a camera this morning specific for coins. I see that if I have (10) 72D's with NoFG, odds are some of them if not all are greasers etc. What are these die markers? Do you have a link? I will post my first one that I found as it has been slabbed by me but should be good enough to see any die markers.

On the obverse, there's a die scratch the run south from the "E" in WE. Actually, a series of Die Scratches running south from WE TRUST.

On the reverse there's a gouge which runs straight north from the "R" in DOLLAR. I do not know what that would be called on the die itself since its not a gouge, which would create a raised line on the coin, as it looks like a gouge on the coin since it's incused. It appears on every example regardless of grade.

From these markers, I can tell that you the above are all authentic. Congrats!

That is cool. I got my loupe out and can not really see the markers. I see what I think are hairlines etc. If you can see them in my coin then I need to recognize them so that I can go through my others and verify them. Can you zoom in on what you are talking about?

I got my new camera, battery is charging but I do not think I will like it. I have to figure it out. I also bought a small tripod but not sure how that is going to work out.

I assume that my 72D above is EF/AU range. What do you think? Also I have no Clue as to what these are worth. "Strike it Rich says around $8. I would think these are worth more than the 82's being they are more scarce. What do you think?

Caleb, this looks to be a Double Die, am I missing something?

The coin I attached is a copy of the 72-D FS-901 graded MS63.

Edited to add: Here is the link to PCGS http://www.pcgs.com/Cert/11696101/

Makes sense then but I can not see the specific die markers in the above post. I will keep looking I guess.

Here is some pics with my new camera. I just plain can not take them well.

I am wondering what type of error you would call this one?

Thank you so much. Of the 15 I had in 2x2's only 3 passed the test. Rare little buggers eh?
