I noticed an Estate Sale in my town this morning as I was wandering around and decided to stop and give it a once over. I immediately noticed one of the more modern coin books and the search was on! These are what I ended up with- Sorry the 2nd one is sideways, can't get the iPad to rotate it. Notice though it is "A Guide Book of United States Coins" 1949 Edition!!! I was pumped to see that in the bottom of a box. I am going to wander back and see if there is the 1947 Edition.
One time at an estate sale I found the second printing of the 1947 redbook and still have it. Of course it isn't worth as much as the first printing, but at a $1 in great condition how could I pass it up?
Those Early Red Books are awesome!! not sure if they are worth anything but they are still a great find!
The 1949 Red Book appears to be the best book of the group shown. There are folks who collect these earlier editions so I would think the book would be fairly liquid. It might be that looking up completed, sold items on ebay would give you a good ballpark estimate as to the value of the book. It's definitely cool.
Thanks for all the replies, these older books are fun to read! The highest valued Morgan Dollar out of the 49 redbook was a 1903O and it had a value of $150 in uncirculated condition.
