Like quite a few colonials I have bought in the past, a Fugio had been on my radar for a while. Luckily, I managed to get a really good price (under $300) for it on ebay.
gijoe76; I clicked on that link. I'm impressed, and I don't care that much for the Lincoln Penny. Congratulations. You worked hard to keep that grade standard up there.
2014-S Presidential Dollar (Roosevelt). Just got this photo back and I was interested how Roosevelt's glasses look like they are sitting on top of the coins design (a bit of a 3D effect). Talk about a nice job preparing the die. Sometimes design elements this thin will break the die and lead to missing pieces of the design element.
About a month ago I got a Volusian Antoninianus. What attracted me to it was it was from Antioch Mint. After looking around and talking to more advanced collectors like this looks to be unlisted. Volusian (251 - 253 A.D.) AR Antoninianus O: IMP C C VIB VOLVSIANVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. R: ROMAE AETERNAE AVG, Roma seated left with Victory & spear, shield at side, ui in ex. Antioch Mint 4g 20mm
This is my first flying eagle penny. I didn't find this one in circulation, I got it at the local coin shop.
I was looking through some antique stores in Santiago and found this Seitz coin case with some very good looking coins. (proofs, I believe). The case is somewhat damaged, but the coins are great. The seller nor I had any idea on the price, so we settled on 90 dollars?? Here it is, and some nice additions to my US coin collection.
Two more Morgan's. One an upgrade, the other just a nice addition. 1896 MS66: Great luster, no breaks in the fields and minimal marks on the devices. Much better in hand. 1891-CC MS62. I already own a 64, but this was too nice to pass up. Great price, a really 62 beauty.
Went to my LCS yesterday and picked up a few little trinkets for my collections. Got half of what I bought yesterday imaged. To start with here is 3 different images of my 1883 Racketeer Liberty V
Also found 2 IHC the first I believe has corrosion issues that I did not catch at the shop. I didnt bring my loupe so I paid the price. The second was really nice in hand and had all the beautiful qualities of what I wanted 4 dimonds, Liberty visible and great detail on it, shop owner had it as XF-40. Not too sure about the grade so if any of you want to tell me if he was right or wrong that would be great.
Finally I picked up a few Lincolns so I could upgrade a few hole fillers I had my my album. This '32 is a woody and very pretty. This '38-D is also a woody.
