as all knows i always finding my own coins , so i don't buy it from website like others any way i found this coin in an old house , and i didn't know this kind of script on the coin or any information , so if there someone knows any think i appreciate your help
The inscription is a crude form of Greek. It reads BACILEOS PTOLEMAIOY. (the o's often are very small). So: of King Ptolemaios of Egypt. Don't know this coin, looks like a local copy of an official issue.
I agree it looks like a local copy. They even tried to copy the dimple Ptolemaic coins used, but the dimple on this one is not correct either.
iam so lucky to be in this website and with some nice people like you guys thanks for your help and please if you got any more information it will be lovely
Is there a reason we only see one side of the coin? The style is certainly not contemporary Ptolemaic Egyptian so the idea of it being Libyan and possibly later than the original is quite strong. Seeing the reverse and having weights and measurements might help but none of us here are skilled in local copies. We can tell you what the coin is not (original to the place and time of the type and inscription) but telling what it is will be much more difficult.
Is it just me, or does this also strike anyone else as looking similar to Sabean/Himyarite? It could be just the nature of derivative coins. If the OP had not mentioned Lybia, I would have suspected this coin might have come from modern day Yemen/Southern Saudi.
i found this website and picture of Ptolemaios coin the Small one on right is similar http://www.acsearch.info/ext_image.html?id=496254
