Looks like they’re requesting some questionable forms of payment – so, may never receive the slabs. There you go, a counterfeit ad for a counterfeit product. Nothing more satisfying than a scammer scamming a scammer.

Both PCGS and NGC plastic and inserts are made in China, I can confirm this from first hand information.

I think those might be real slabs. I don't see anything wrong with someone wanting to store their coins in one as long as they don't make counterfeit labels or try to sell them as if they were graded by PCGS.

That's kind of like saying it is ok to point hand guns at people and pull the trigger as long as they are unloaded. Sooner or later someone is going to get shot

I got a response from PCGS. They thanked me for my email and said they forwarded it to the appropriate department.

Do you think that's the "Deleted Items" folder in Microsoft Outlook?

    :D

    Ah, I tease...

Wow. A bit much, no? "Like pointing a gun at somebody"? Are you serious? Way to take my comment of someone slabbing their coins for their personal collection and equating it to pointing a gun at someone. That's nowhere near the same thing.

Really smart . . . complain about knocking off of your product, and then authorize manufacture of your product by those already proven not to be trustworthy. Talk about the fox guarding the henhouse.

They'll be making holders and inserts for the TPG's on 1st shift, and making them for their own operations on 2nd shift.

I think there would be a lot of cheaper options for self-slabbing your coins than $10/ea for counterfeit PCGS slabs....

Very true. They are expensive. I would imagine the process of sealing them by oneself wouldn't be as good as when PCGS seals them either. For the money you are much better off going with Air-Tites or those Whitman snap holders, IMO.

There goes any respect. Are you serious? Can they NOT have them made THERE?

The biggest way to fight these slabs is to make sure they have quality pictures of every coin in the legit slab. Then, the sellers will need to verify coin with slab any time they buy. I know that PCGS and NGC does this now, but it may get to the point where you have to question a slab that does not have a picture associated with it. It also means that PCGS and NGC need to make sure their pictures are not crappy so the coin can be verified. It's sort of sad, but it's probably where we are going if these fakes continue to flood the market.

    I love it!

Folks find something which is obviously illegal and then post it on a Public Forum.

All the while assuming that those who read "public forums" do NOT have to be members AND may in fact be looking for exactly what was posted thereby increasing sales of said counterfeits and inadvertently screwing up the market place under the guise of just letting everybody know that there are counterfeit slabs out there......................sheesh!

    No. Not really.

There are MANY unscrupulous individuals that linger on coin forums.
They cheat. They steal. The use the information presented to best suit theor needs whether legal or not.

More than once I've seen folks post an auction about an amazing buy they "Just" made on eBay only to have these unscrupulous individuals email the seller with offers far exceeding the winning bid yet under the real value of what was purchased.

They ARE out there and the more that this information gets broadcast, the more likely it is to make it into Hands which DO NOT have your best interests in mind.

There was once a fella on the CU Forums that looked and watched every thread on how to AT coins. He then proceeded to buy PCGS coins, AT them in the slabs, and then resell them for more money.

    They are out there.

If you want to broadcast exactly where tyo go to get the necessary supplies and equipment to start a thriving counterfeiting business, regardless of product, just post it on an open forum that has to do with that business.

It's not really a public service announcement as much as it is an advertisement for those that seek such things.
