Anyone know how to track subscription products from the US Mint? I have a subscription for the Silver Proof set, and under my list of orders, there's a listing for this but it shows it as "closed". No tracking is available. Are these orders handled somehow differently than "one-time" orders???

    I'm confused...

Do you have an order number? If so I'd call customer service regarding the matter. The orders aren't handled any differently from the regular 'onetime' ones. Never seen 'closed' before.

Is your CC info (expiration date) up to date at the mint's web site? Are you over the CC limit? Has your CC been cancelled? These are all reasons to have an order cancelled by the mint.

That's right! I forgot about that.

The CC info is up to date and working - same one they've been billing the HOF coins to.

The little "window" you get on the Your Account "my order history" page shows this:

Going into the order detail, there is an order #, but the price each and total show $0.00.

Is that what you folks show for your subscription orders?

  7. I believe if the subscription was your last order it will look like that in that little window. Of course, this is the US Mint we are talking about so anything goes and nothing looks like it appears.

Mine showed 0 cost until they reserved it, then the subscription showed "Cancelled" and a new line appeared showing the actual sets ordered and the cost. I'd call the mint to clarify, since your situation is a little different.

Check your subscriptions page, make sure it's still there. It may have somehow been removed.

It still shows up on the subscriptions page. No cost there either though.

Other than calling the mint, I don't know what you can do at this point. Good luck.

    I will do that.

    Thank you.

    Well, here's the scoop.

I didn't place my subscription at least 3 days before it went on sale, so the subscription only registered me for next year. As far as they're concerned I don't have an order for this year's set. So I have to place a new order for those...

    At least I know now....

That sucks. My 5 sets will be here tomorrow, if that makes you feel any better.:)

It's ok. I'm not in any hurry to get them. Just was hoping to get the subscription discount.

Stupid, just plain stupid. Why not offer the current product with a subscription? Notice how sales drop off for many products after the subscriptions are filled?

Not stupid, they offer the discount to encourage pre-ordering so they can have a good idea of the number of item that need to be produced. If they have subscriptions for say half a million sets they know they can have at least that many produced and on hand when they officially go on sale. So it can speed up shipping. Of course if you would rather they wait until they start online sales and then start striking and greatly delay shipments......

That's a good reason, but still stupid. They'd increase their sales if they'd offer the discount on subscriptions for current products, especially since they are so over priced for the pm value. If I can't sign up for a subscription for the current product, I might as well wait until the next offering to sign up, if I'm still interested at that point - many will have lost interest. Take for example the 5oz AtB's, whose sales have just about died after the subscriptions were filled. With the discount they are very close to a reasonable premium.

They do, and the subscription window closes three days before they go on sale for full price. Now they do only offer subscriptions of annual products not one shot only items. As for the 5 oz, of course they died. It's considered an annual item so they offered subscriptions and just about anyone who wanted one orders it by subscription to get the discount. By the time they go on sale at full price everyone that wants one already has it. And if you place a subscription order for an annual item LESS then three days before it goes on sale they make it a subscription order for NEXT years example of the item.

Some tmes the subscriptions get them in trouble though. When the First Spouse coins were first offered they were originally listed for subscriptions before the official sale date. There was a rush for subscriptions and they were greatly over sold before they even went on sale.
