Do you really think that any of the people here who say they bid intend to pay for the coin in the first place?

I can say for certain that it is fake. By looking at the photos, it is clear that the 3 is an altered number. If you compare the authentic 1913 examples to this example you will see the 3 is very different.

I couldnt agree with you more. But logic with BKOZAK is a futile thing....

Oh, but see MAYBE there is another heretofore unknown die variety!

Yeah, right. And the reason we have never heard of it is that Santa Claus owned it up to now. He accidentally dropped it in a chimney last Christmas. It got tossed out with the ashes, but a little orphan girl with a metal detector rescued it and contacted INB as the most obviously trustworthy consignee.

The rest is (or will be) history!

My understanding is all these coins came from the same die.

    LOL!

Hey, it's his money. I believe that eBay buyer protection should cover these situations...but I wouldn't take that gamble.

No, I got it...that's why I "LOL'd" the second quote. I just didn't want anyone else to use the "different die" theory as a reason as to why this didn't match up.

There are actually two coins sandwiched within the slab. The reverse is a genuine 1910 proof nickel (which covers the "copy" stamp of the obverse coin). This is stored in a SDB with a complete set of V-nickels in PF64. :D

You will know when I kick the bucket. The headline will read: "Woman dies of heart attack while reviewing late husband's coin collection"
