Any great coin shops in the Orlando FL area?

I know there are a bunch, but wanted to vet them here first. Looking for honest dealers, decent prices and preferably a selection that includes CAC coins. Also large or impressive stores would be cool to see when I am there.

    Any info would be appreciated.

Doesn't really answer the OPs question. He asked if there are any great coin shops. You posted a link stating there are coin shops. Even without your link Google could have answered whether shops exist within city limits...

    Just sayin....

Yes he did ask for "great coin shops", but I gave him a powerful and a good tool for anywhere he travels. He can fish everyday rather than feast for today.

Furthermore, just to say, "great" is subjective. It doesn't matter whose shop you post someone will dispute it with a bad experience or feeling the owner overprices or under bids when buying from the public.

Perhaps the 'greatest' coin shop in Orlando (this year) is a three day event, the Florida United Numismatists, Inc., 8th Annual Summer FUN Convention, July 10 - 12 2014.

And finally, what have you offered in terms of the OPs question...? Even Google can't tell you what's "great."

Maybe you could send a PM to Shane Canup, aka kryptonitecomics. He lives in the Orlando area.

There are a few decent ones East of Orlando in Daytona if you go through there, though the link only shows one of them.

I think you misunderstand the Google reference. Your link and Google will both show you where the coin shops are. That's great; however, it isn't what the OP asked. He asked for an opinion. Predicting the future is something I am not going to participate in, and you are right, someone may have posted positive or negative about it. Thank you for furthering my point. The OP may be a collector of Liberty seated coinage for example. One comment may say something like "coin shop ABC had tons of graded Moderns, but their classic coinage selection was terrible"...that would be a shop to avoid, and that persons comment was of value. Your post was of no value. That's the point you are missing. I guarantee you that without your link the OP could have found a coin shop in Orlando. What he is asking for, is WHICH COIN SHOP to find himself in. That is the opinion, the experience, the knowledge, that he sought.

For further support of what I am saying, please see the recent thread about shops in Charlotte NC. What is so funny about it is that the OP in that thread had actually heard of a specific shop (Hyatt) and wasn't impressed with what he heard. I, however, was in an identical position as him, heard good things, checked it out for myself on a layover in Charlotte I had. Turns out it was GREAT. And that member will most likely share the same experience. Experience being the key term here.

Truth be told, I just didn't like your post. It was as if you were so annoyed to once again provide the common folk with your amazing knowledge of coin shop locations. But, in actuality, it isn't even what he wanted....

    ***********************************************************************
So, for the OP, here is my input to what it was you were specifically asking:
on Sunday, 5/11/14 (hopefully when you will be there), the South Brevard Coin Club's coin show will be at the Eau Galle Civil Center, 1551 Highland Avenue, Melbourne, FL (free entry). While I have never personally been there as it is roughly a 2-3 hr drive from me, It is one of 4 coin shows that all South Florida coin dealers attend, one each Sunday of each month. I know of roughly 30+ dealers who will attend, most of whom I have made purchases from personally at the remaining 3 coin shows all in the more Southern Florida areas. Good prices all around. All willing to negotiate.

Truth be told opinions aren't worth a thing so I don't offer them, opting instead to give others resources for going about matters on their own. The broad tool I gave is one that is essentially vetted as it offers people those dealers who are registered with the ANA, a long standing resource and leader in educating collectors and supporting the hobby. As you suggested, a little online research would pinpoint shops in the requested area, and learning to do one's own homework, is always better than relying on others, particularly on others' "opinions" which are usually biased and not objectively communicated.

Your ill temper precedes you and intrudes throughout this thread, well before your information about regional collectors/dealers given to the OP, from your choice of user name to someone bent on telling others their information is worthless. And that underscores my point of what happens when someone asks for something like, "greatest coin shops" and gets someone's biased opinion back. Your assumptive "what if" scenario isn't even one that arose, so doesn't further your point nor justify the 'greatness' of any one or other shops in the area.

FWIW, the OP asked for Orlando coin shops and you've suggested a venue an hour or more drive away, which you have never even been to to speak of from personal experience and can only assume will have dealers/hobbyist that are willing to negotiate. What and when they decide to negotiate on sales/trades is as arbitrary as what they may or may not have to sell and what is being offered to them. You shouldn't speak so decisively (and generally) for others as well as cast doubt on others' choice of information to share with the OP.

In the future, just keep your, proverbial, trap shut, if you don't like what others are posting. Your assumption of what you thought I meant about the link I gave was plain wrong. You read into it 'annoyance' and skewed the reply with some obtuse ideas of my post implying others were lesser somehow, hence your "common folk" oddity. When in fact, I was just surprised by how frequently the ANA Dealer Directory can be given and it seems to be useful to others. I share the knowledge I have for finding dealers or coin information at your finger tips, and used this particular single, yet vast source (not as vast and uncertain as a Google search would be, but one that's relevant and filtered to the OP), that I trust to only offer those dealers who are safer to deal with when I travel somewhere and don't know the local shops.

As the first post said, "Any info would be appreciated."

Hope the rest of your day is better. Regards.

Allow me to simplify this, lets see if putting your own foot in your mouth is easier than logic forcing it into your behind.

"Any great coin shops in the Orlando FL area? " - OPs question
    "http://money.org/membership/dealer-directory" - Your answer

Can you point out the "great" coin shops from your link for us? I don't see how a list provides what the OP asked for.

But please, dodge it again, focus on something that wasn't even part of the original point made, or go off on a different tangent, and do it all again while trying to sound intelligent this time...
My personal favorite was the attack on my choice of username...yikers

Oh, and I consider Melbourne to be in the Orlando area, as 70% of the dealers at the show are based in Orlando. But, you know, facts and stuff can be such a bother.

Oh you're simple, that we can see. I told you I didn't give an opinion and the OP said he was open to any information, so I proffered something.

You said, "He asked for an opinion." Why don't you backtrack and reevaluate the words in the first post... Take a moment. I'll wait for you. Okay, did you go back and read it?... Now, where does he ask for opinions? Should be able to remove the feet from your orifices and remain focused, then this simple thread will remain as you say, simple, not tangential, as you've made it into.

It's pretty clear from your name the kind of attitude you bring here and your replies underscore it: assumptive, negative and combative. Speaking of behinds... like the song says, "Free your mind and your (X) with follow."

Yes, it appears opinions rule out facts, which to you are quite irrelevant, in your view.

So, a GREAT coin shop would be something one could unanimously and scientifically define? Or would GREAT be defined as (and lets be honest, its what the OP is asking for) an OPINION???

You SIMPLY just don't get it. So it kind of shocks me that you think you are in a position to demean others. You would be the equivalent of a well spoken homeless person giving a speech on qualifications for first time homebuyers.

Look bud, if you cannot respect that the OP asked for opinions, you gave a snarky and conceited reply that did not include an opinion, and got called out on it, just leave it alone. The only thing you are proving is why you have the lowest posts-to-like ratio on the site.

"Respect that the OP asked for opinions"...? What...ever! He plainly asked for "any information", and no where did he ask for "opinions". Not that he would reject any opinions, he simply did not state he wanted "opinions", preferring instead to ask for "information". You want to make this about semantics, chew on this, "In general, an opinion is a judgment, viewpoint, or statement about matters commonly considered to be subjective, i.e. based on that which is less than absolutely certain, and is the result of emotion or interpretation of facts." (Wikipedia.org). So you should just stop and go to bed, because you have nothing to offer here but a slew of vitriol for who knows what is going on in your life that makes you choose to vent on others here over this trifle of an issue. I'm not forced to opine, nor did this thread solicit me for opinions, but I've swiftly begun to form one about you from these exchanges.

And that "posts-to-like ratio" LOL! What a rube you are placing any value in such artificial meters! It never fails when someone is loosing an argument that they go hunting for quantities of posts to attack the value of someones words. I should keep a list of the number of times goons like you have fled to that argument. And "likes", well you can have them. Maybe I'll go back and give you some. How would you like that? You sound like you need someone to "like" you very badly. I'll show you how fake "likes" are... They are as worthless as the fiat is you supposedly imply by your own snarky username commentary. "Likes" come and go. When CT's software was last upgraded, a whole bunch of people whined about their "like count" getting wiped back to zero. Don't put your faith in your view that they help to enlighten you about what others may be like. We can "like" all of your posts and still dislike what you have to say or to offer a given topic. You've got your opinion and you've got your orifices, so it sounds like you're all set in life.

As I tried to save you from being served previously, I'll say it again since you're too busy asserting that this thread is all about giving opinions, when...

As the first post said, "Any info would be appreciated."

Hope the rest of your day is better. Regards.

Your 1st paragraph - He asked for a great coin shop. You dodge this fact in every response.

Your 2nd paragraph - It took you one response to break forum rules and attack my name choice. When I state a fact regarding your general unlikedness on this site, a repeating issue, you type out a ridiculous response.

Your One Liners - See 1st Paragraph response. OP wanted to know of GREAT coin shops. To know a great coin shop, one must have an opinion it is great. Go find a wikipedia article on that. Type out another essay while avoiding the simplest thing. You are a condescending, unliked, thing. Had you just posted the link, sure, it may have fit the secondary request of the OP. It is your condescending wording that makes you such an worthless member.

You keep saying "have a better day". My friend, I could not have better days. I have my health, my family, my finances, my hobbies....Again, I reference my homeless person giving speeches analogy. Why would YOU be telling ME to have a better day??? This next analogy is grossly overstated, but considering your ridiculously unjustified condescending tone, your continual blabber would be like the village peasant telling the Duke of the fiefdom to have a better day. Don't worry about me brother, I am fine, so get down on your knee and stop eyeballing me...boy.

You would be the person whom I would "phone a friend" on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Probably just chock full of useless knowledge, and definitely still living on moms couch, so a guarantee that you will pick up the phone when I call.

Good luck my friend, it going to continue to be a lonely existence you got going over there...

    [yawn!]

There's no dodging the fact that this OP never said we wanted, opinions. That's what you assumed and interpreted he wanted and now demand that all others (who might post here) succumb to giving. You further didn't like what you read into my first post, which I have already informed you that you were wrong about. Yet you refuse to admit you were in err and let it go.

The fact is, the OP asked for "any information" and was given just that by myself, information, not a personal view. You want to give an opinion, go for it. I didn't jump on you for doing so, because I READ the OP and noticed he was open to anything. This has been explained to you and you've been let off the hook twice previously, but like a moth to a flame...

So, why would I tell you to have a better day? I suspect it's because despite having it all as it were from your list of possessions, you seem to be deeply missing something staring you in the face. Maybe it's much simpler though, like a lack of experience with "great coin shops" to draw upon and offer this OP/thread. And what you have offered, is something you yourself haven't ever even attended (yet), that monthly Melbourne Coin Club event. If you knew the dealers that attend this event, then why not share some information on them for this OP, who may not be able to determine which dealers attend the show nor make it there himself, but could visit the dealers shops?

Lets just stick with one or the other for now. I think you get very easily confused and/or buy your own stories.
