Celebrating me coming home from China, I would like to give out a few notes from the trip. Rules: This contest is geared more towards paper money collectors but is open to anyone that has posted a coin or note in one of these two threads as of right now. http://www.cointalk.com/threads/paper-money-new-acquisitions.145914/ http://www.cointalk.com/threads/lets-see-your-newest-acquisitions.158772/ If you post your 1st coin or note in either of these threads after this contest starts, it does not count. In this contest thread, post a picture of your favorite coin or note from either of the two threads mentioned. You must list the page the coin or note is on to make it easier for me to verify. One person cannot win both prizes so please only post a coin or a note, but not both. On Sunday 5/11/2014 8pm EST I will have a random drawing of eligible participants. If you posted a note you will be eligible for the first prize shown below. If you posted a coin you will be eligible for the second prize shown below. For the record the coin is a fake and the note is real. I may have a better 20 Yuan for the first drawing (looking through what I have stashed away) and I would say all of the notes are at least AU with the exception of the 20 shown. Good Luck
I don't qualify, but I would like to say that the 5 Yuan note, and the coin, are both beautiful. I am more of a coin collector. However, the purple really "pops" on the 5 Yuan note. Good luck to all!
Personally I like the old "nationalities" issue of ca. 1980 which was still in circulation a bit in 2006 when I was there. The Mao notes started coming out in 2005.
I agree, I think I have a couple examples from earlier trips put away. These are nice though, especially for the price.
Nice idea. I think I'm in one of those topics, please count me out as an interested party, improving the odds for the rest. In the interest of helping you promote communism (joke), I am willing to add a third place prize to your draw. I have an envelope and a $1.10 to US stamp somewhere. If you allow it to piggyback in your draw and there is an interested party, I will be happy to send these to a US/Canadian address. Condition: Lightly circulated and mostly still crisp. Thanks RickieB, I always wish that friends that travel overseas remember to bring back a note or two of the local currencies for me. Love it when it works out and wanted to do the same for my friends here at CT.
You know Uss656..in life you meet all kind s of people..I can say that throughout the years it has been a pleasure to know you from coin talk. I still have the Mexican Notes you sent me..some things are just not for sale! All the best in Life to you, Sir! Best regards, RickieB

Nice idea Darryl! I too still have Mexican polymer notes you sent me! This contest gives me an idea for something similar I might be able to do. Good luck to the contestants of this one!
Welcome back! I'm just peeking at the thread and have to say that the coin in the photo is beautiful! Really.
awesome, thanks for the contest! How long were you in China? From your first link, one of my posts can be found here: http://www.cointalk.com/threads/paper-money-new-acquisitions.145914/page-112#post-1658468
Thank you both! SnV - Congrats as the 1st entered. That is a nice star note. Love the numbers series of reserves. I was gone for only 10 days but it felt like an eternity. Love coming home to the family!
I am shocked that more people are not interested in what is offered. SnV, at this rate, your a shoe in for the Chinese Yuan.
Maybe showing the approximate value of the prizes might help... $11.50... http://www.ebay.com/itm/China-a-set...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 $9... http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLAND-Lot-...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
