That's pretty cool, but it might be impractical if you want to log prices, who you bought it from, etc.
The Numista site also allows you to export to Excel, and the results are nice. That doc can be opened in Google, etc.
Thanks for this. I use Google Drive and PCGS now, but both have their limitations. I'll take a look at Numismaster and the Coinnection.
I tried The Coin Connection and immediately ran into problems - how would I enter my 1788 MA cent, Fugio Restrike, Machin's Mills or Brashlow Continental Restrike? They don't seem to have any way to do that.
It's a growing site, and not that old. If you are using the free version, it is what it is, and could use your feedback to improve it per your listing needs. The best way to get it done is to contact someone ON THAT site, NOT THIS one.
Yes, of course, though there is nothing wrong with pointing out limitations like that here. I think it looks very useful if your coins match its database and (although it will take some time) I will put in what I can there.
This thread is not about pointing out limitations of other site's features but rather the options for organizing ones collection.
Suppose someone only collected Colonials? They'd have no use for that site - what's wrong with pointing that out? Commenting on WHAT you can organize with a given tool is perfectly valid, I think. By the way, I'm also confused about the comment "If you are using the free version". I didn't see any other option. I do see that my membership will renew automatically, but I never paid anything. I'd be happy to (well, unless the price is ridiculous) because it does look like a good project and worth supporting.
Nothing wrong with it, it's just not the point of this thread which is now deviating from listing the options of how to organizing a collection/inventory now. But spending the time to alert the people on THAT site to improve it means you don't have to post here about it, doing nothing there to help those like yourself who want to list such coins THERE. If you want this pointed out, then start a new thread rather than cloud up this one and risk having the concern soon buried in posts here. Registration is free. As I said this is a newer site and still building a base of users. There is a "Membership Pricing" area on the site, and I have encountered in some versions of the site, areas that point towards (future?) paid features. From the sites news: "Please note: All current free memberships will continue to have paid member features for 30 days starting today. Keep in mind you will still have complete access to manage your personal collections after the 30 days is up."
