Can anybody give a real guesstimate, as to how often you really find silver in circulated rolls. lets say I get 100 boxes of coin, what % realistically would have silver 10, 50, 75% ? Which coin is still has the most silver in circulation?
I say it is a waste of time. It will take hours to go through a box of $250 only to find a value of about 2 bucks... then you have to reroll all the coins and drop them off at another bank.
I agree that it's a waste of one's own time, not to mention a waste of your bank's time, money, and resources.
Unless you edge search and dump the coin in a coin machine. Takes me 10 minutes to do a box of dimes.
I search halves...it comes and goes but when it comes it sure is fun. Found 6 Oz the other week with $1000 worth. Then again, that was the 2nd best day in two years. I usually hit at least one every month but when you find them, they can be a blast.
I have accounts with several banks that have coin machines that are free for members. Costs me nothing. The banks are on the way to and from worth so there is no extra gas. The only thing it takes me is time to search. No loss of money besides what I pull from rolls.
Oh you sheeple that use those fee machines. Get a credit union. Cuter and friendlier tellers, free coin machines and they save me all the goodies they see.
Thanx for all the comments. If you all are up for it lets see if we can post what we really find and maybe figure out what the real % of silver coins in rolls mite be. Please post the type of coin searched, the total # of coins looked through and the # of silver's found not important the % of silver just total quantity USA coins only please. I will start: Kennedy half's, 4000 looked through, 67 silvers found. that gives me a 1.675% "silver" find rate, so far.
I decided to start a separate tread so Everyone would see it. Title: Amount of silver in rolls Please post data there thanx
