I believe NCS is the name of NGCs conservation service. NCS is the part of NGC that "conserves" coins.

But they don't grade coins. They conserve and then send over to NGC but thanks for the explanation.

Sometimes coins are placed in NCS holders. I think it's because sometimes when a coin is conserved, under the toning a previous cleaning is revealed, so the coin is placed in an NCS details holder.

Jeez, i hope fee-bay pulls it....

But they cant, he never stated it was genuine, but the pics did (never listen to pics...) all he stated was that it was a liberty V with a date that read 1913....

    OOOOk....

i mean, it is only the most counterfeited coin in the world, so why would this one be fake.....

Front of one slab, back of another. Look at the corners.

In all seriousness can it be reported? Has to be fake. If it was real wouldn't it be illegal to own?

You know though...it doesn't say anywhere on the slab that it is a 1913. It says "Liberty V-Nickel 1883-1913." I would say this is a genuine Liberty V-Nickel.

Of course, this is clearly intended to deceive some dumb eBayer.

I'm pretty sure it's the same slab in both photos.

This is all very entertaining, but somebody probably should report it before the seller and "buyer" have to deal with a completed high-value auction. I imagine the seller listed it as a "novelty", but it is technically against eBay rules, specifically this one:

It' was reported earlier today. Although, I don't know if multiple people reporting it may help. It certainly couldn't hurt.

Not sure, but I bet they must put the coins in NGC details holders now based on how hard it was to find a picture of one of these NCS holders, but a while ago the NCS slabs were abundant and definitely the kiss of death as far as auction prices.
Still should be completely sale-able on the Bay!
