My shipping dates were pushed out to 5/13. May 13th. Are they serious?

I wish I had a survey to fill out but that would be of no use as no survey could ever convey my disappointment in the US Mint or their Fulfillment Center.

Hey guys, brand new member here, first post. I can tell you all about my collection later, but I had a question about these HOF coins. I bought a complete set from mint (6 coins) and sent them to NGC. All came back perfect 70 but the MS silver (69). I also marked error on that one, though it doesn't look like they agreed with me. Does anyone elses MS silver look like a doubled mint mark? Mine has a very slight doubling look to it. I will probably sell most of mine on ebay (except for the MS gold), but do not want to sell the MS silver if it is indeed a double mint mark and nobody else's looked the same.

Welcome to the forum! Can you post some clear close up pics of the mint mark?

I was in a hurry to ship to NGC when they arrived, so forgot to take pics. I think they arrived back from NGC to my post office today, so will try to get some pics tomorrow. Probably won't turn out as well in the holder though. There is just a faint line, or double appearance, on one side of the mint mark. I can't seem to find any good pictures of other mint marks on the MS silver to compare it to. I'm guessing NGC did not mark it as an error, since there were no comments in the comment section where it showed what they graded.

Here is a close up of the mint mark. To me it appears to be a slight doubling on the right side.

Who cares if they sell out? This is the most mismanaged offering ever from the US Mint. It is making me reconsider if I ever want to deal with them again--after all, so many of the issues are available on the secondary market a couple of years later, when they're worth nothing (and can be had in slabs for a pittance over mint offering price). My ship date was pushed back from May 10 to May 14 again. They've lost all credibility as far as I am concerned.

  9. Not sure, but it is most likely strike doubling perhaps due to curvature of coin. TC

Would this be considered an error in your opinion? Do any of you see this on your coins (those that have been lucky enough to receive them so far!) I'm trying to find out if this is rare on these, or if they all look just like mine.

It wouldn't be considered an error. Possibly a variety if there's enough of them out there.

I received 4pr and 5 unc HOF silver coins, one of the silver uncs have a doubled P mint-mark and if you look down towards the stitching of the ball near the rim has doubling also, i can't get a good picture like you did. i think its just a little hub doubling, not going to be worth anything.

No strike doubling is considered to be damage not an error, and it would never be considered a variety no matter how many of them there are.

I agree with condor. I say put it on eBay and let the buyer decide if it's worth more! Haha

When you list the auction, send pictures and an eBay link to a few of the coin blogs. You should do very well if anyone runs gives you press.

Thank you - I have a couple of mine so far, but more coming and I'm trying to decide if I should get them slabbed or if it isn't worth the added expense...

The rest of my dollars are currently scheduled for mid-May, but my gold aren't scheduled until July....

Slabbed are going for much more but I haven't paid too close attention to exactly how much.
