Hi All, Okay this was in a roll, it stood out because of the weak lettering and the mint is only visible at an angle that I couldn't photo, but I tried; P. I then observed a crack that goes from the seven o'clock over the Q and if i am saying it correctly East under the base of George. Hope I found something, but if I did not I welcome all responses as I am learning. Please if you know why the mint is the way it is or if its a crack could you school me on the correct terminology? Thanks All!
The m/m is probably the result of a grease-filled die. Note that E, S & T of IGWT are also weak where the incuse letters on the die were partially filled with grease. It's a very common occurrence. The die crack is also a common occurrence, and the base of the neck seems to be where they will often start. Chris
if I had a new camera id show you the 2005 ocean view nickel I found searching in a box .. its got a cud in liberty
Cool!!!!! Thank you!!!! Did I use the correct terminology? Does this increase the value? Anyways just into this two weeks of coin hunting so I am way happy about this!!!!! The best thing is I got my daughters interested in coin hunting and all due to responses from Coin Talk responses to one of their finds, thanks all!
No, but you can keep it as a conversation piece to prove to others they haven't hit the mother lode when they find one similar. Chris
