ok i was born during the tail end of the 70's really I can say . I remember my mom giving me my first birthday dollar , a 1978 proof Eisenhower dollar . I still have it..its in a 2x2 flip and I have the necklace one she gave me also.. its got a whole drill threw it.. so I put it on my dog tag chain.. almost 40 yrs since ikes came out.. im 35 now.. so I want to start a new Eisenhower certified set . to me if you like ike and you think there just nifty gaudy pieces of still spendable leagal u.s. tender.. your going to like the new 40th anniversary labels from pcgs..

I don't sell coins , I barely like to trade them but I love ike's and this label makes me want to get a new set started...does it do the same for you???

I have a certain fondness for them because I was a young collector (eight years old) when they first came out, and I could get them in circulation at the candy store down the road, or at the bank, whenever my mother made a trip. At that age, I couldn't afford even cheap examples of big dollars like the Morgan or Peace, but a handful of Ikes went a long way to scratching that itch.

I also collect graded Proof and MS San Francisco Mint marked 40% silver Eisenhower dollar coins. Though I haven't imaged most of them successfully, yet. I enjoy their large diameter despite the impracticality of using them in circulation.

I think the Eisenhower Dollar is a wonderful series and it's really fun to collect. That label doesn't do anything for me personally, but I really do enjoy this set.

Needless to say, I chose the Gold.

I did the same for the Kennedy Half Dollars as it gave me a "reason" to lay out the money for some of the otherwise common Kennedy Half Proofs:
