To know which is more out of line, we would have to compare overall prices of coins up and down over the years. I honestly do not know when the peaks and valleys were.

Ive spent a good chunk of money on 3 coins in a short time period. I might lay off a bit and look for a good reference book on greek coinage to further my education and possible inspire my next purchase.

What defines "good" in this case? Opinions will differ and Greek coins are harder to organize than those of empires with a single central power structure. IMHO, catalogs are not as useful as conceptual works that expose the reader to the various questions through examples of what exists. In some cases this can even be a catalog as long as the reader knows that it is not even approaching the whole of what exists.

I like Greek Coins by John Anthony, Dictionary of Ancient Greek Coins by John Melville Jones and Ancient Greek Coins by G. K. Jenkins. All taught me something but none provide catalog numbers that look good on file cards or sales listings.
