Today I made my most expensive single coin purchase. Tomorrow it goes to CAC with my first ever order to them, and I've decided to try Heritage for the first time at the Summer ANA auction in Chicago. I'm excited to see how everything goes. This particular coin has not been on the market since the late 70's, if my information on it is correct. I got it at a LCS who bought the entire collection from the son of a collector who had passed. I hope it gets CAC'ed and does well at auction for me. Oh yeah, and wow, how I wish it just had a touch more head detail for that FH designation! If it did have the full head I think you would have paid a wee bit more.

Man that's a beauty and I'm not a slq collector I think it'll get a bean. And we all could use a bit more head ;) would make this one a great one!!

This has something for everyone. Luster and attractive toning.

I am not a SLQ collector, and I think it is a beauty. I would love to know what you paid and what you expect it to bring. If you aren't comfortable publishing it would it be ok to request it in PM?

This is the last PCGS AU58 to sell on Heritage, back in 2011 it brought $4025. With mine having a much fuller head and somewhat better detail, plus it being in an OGH and being fresh to the market, I suspect it will bring a minimum of $4750 (the current PCGS price guide value for an MS60). You never know, though. It could sell for $4100 or it could go for astronomical money if someone just has to have it.

People pay crazy money for the CAC sticker though. I looked up HA auctions and I was wondering about that one. Yours is far superior.

I would certainly think it gets a green bean. It's a nice AU58 IMHO with an excellent strike.

I'm going to be the first downer and say no to the CAC Bean

Looks nice to me. Congrats on your first submission. Good luck, I've had a very high sticker rate, but only on low end coins.

I agree. I thought it was a shoe-in all the way, until I saw the reverse.
