is this a 2 dollar star note

    this was from my grandmother when she passed a few years ago. is there anything to this?

    Yes, it's a star note. I don't know about its value, but it is definitely a keeper.

    star note. it must has some sentimental value being from your grandmother. not sure what the value is ? I would keep it. :blackalien:

    Ty! Well I do not plan on selling it, but I would love to give it to one of my daughters one day.

    in this condition I would say the bill is worth $25-$30

    I like the fact that all digits in serial are different....no 2 alike :)

    "this note is legal tender at its face value for all debts public and private" Sure seems like the federal reserve somehow knew this bill was going to be worth something.

    I don't think modern bills have the "at face value" part.

    There where 720,000 star notes print for the 1953 A series.
    *02 160 001A - *02 880 000A
