I'm looking at maybe buying a book on peace dollars that would help you determine different varieties. I was looking at the Encyclopedia of Morgan and Peace Dollars, by Allen and Mallis? Is it any good?

I like The Guidebook of Peace Dollars but that's the only one I'm familiar with.

The Van Allen/Mallis book was published in 1992, so you should be aware that you would need the annual updates. At the time the book was released, there were about 1,800 Morgan and Peace VAM's. Now, there are about 4,400. These updates can be obtained from Leroy Van Allen, and his contact information is listed on the VAMWorld site.

I agree, I have this book and think it is wonderful. I know that some of the details are a little outdated...but it's still a great resource.
