Also be on the lookout for 1995 Double Die Lincoln cents, and other penny varieties that you can read about here: http://coins.about.com/od/coinvalues/qt/memorial_errors.htm
i have the results in! i will post them in the next two hours. change of coin plans though: 110 in dimes 60 in nickels 20 in quarters 20 in halves 10 in cents some very nice finds, and one silver! no buffs though, all jeffs.
nice job im going to the bank to day im getting 4 rolls of nickels 4 rolls of dimes and 8 rolls of cents
i have seen quite a lot of MDD dimes and cents. but i also have a few suspected error coins. so i will be posting those soon.
Correct. It's mechanical/machine doubling caused by a die striking a coin, and then moving slightly (usually due to the die being loosely installed). This causes the die to strike the coin again; lightly enough for it to not leave another strike on the coin, but hard enough so that it flattens part of the design, giving it a doubled appearance.
um, all that i have found: 2 rolls of halves: 1 2005 p 2 rolls of quarters: have not checked for errors, but other than that, a skunk. 22 rolls of dimes: 1 silver and several suspected errors, thread will be up soon. still searching. and 1 British 5 pence 30 rolls of nickels: almost 40 pre-64, plus filled my last two remaining Jeff nickel spots for my Jeff nickel collection 1938-1996! 10 rolls of cents: >100 pre-82 cents, 1 wheat cent, 1 Canadian penny, 1 British penny, and multiple suspected errors. still searching. thats it so far guys!
whats funny is that they had to give me 10 dollars back cause' i flushed out all their coins. BTW, do you need an account to trade cash for coins at a bank?
