Thanks. Can you elaborate for a few pages, so it looks like I started a popular thread?

    The Clad Half......"the last resort".
With a mintage of 750,000 I'm not sure that these coins will ever be worth much. I don't think many have sold either despite the fact that a lot of people on eBay are getting these confused with the silver dollar and paying premium money for 'em.

If they start selling these at ballparks it might be good, but as far as I'm concerned, they'll only drag down the value of the other HOF coins. :(

  9. I have not ordered any clad yet but found out that my gold proof ordered on day 2 is now in process. So, if I end up getting it, I will probably order the clad for a complete set of all gold, silver and clad.

    4/8/2014. We shall see.

  11. Unless there is an error. ;) Heard on another forum that the curve is not as sharp on the clad coin as gold or silver due to composition of the metal. Sounds like the possibility of a potential error/variety? :)

All you need is one ball player to say he plays/hits/pitches better when he has one in his pocket, and demand will soar! :D

I think I read the same discussion; something about the clads being more challenging to mint?

    Expected to ship on 4/13

  14. Yes, I think they were saying the metal used in the clad was harder (or not as malleable) as the gold/silver. I am not a metallurgist but I think we have one here on CT.

I believe they discussed it in an issue of Coin World...

I'm no metallurgist, but nickel (and copper-nickel) is definitely harder than gold and silver, so it stands to reason.

I was kinda hoping these would suffer the same "ignore me" fate as the ARMY Clad Half Dollars but it just wasn't meant to be.

The low mintage on the clad Army Half is still attracting some nice premiums.

Got my clads yesterday along with the proof dollar coin. Nice looking coins.

My golds got changed again on the shipping date. They went from 4/23 to 6/1 to 7/1 over the course of a few days. Now they're back to 6/1.
