I received a 1961 Roosevelt Dime in PCGS MS-66 FB. That completes the matched set of business strike silver Roosies, all MS-66 FB or FT. Took several years to get this last one.
my title will be the same as yours once I complete my morgan dollar PCGS MS65 set. I am getting there
The 1961 is a semi-key to the set. Based on catalog value it the 5th most difficult to get. Based on my experience it's tougher than that.
As stated underneath his avatar: Relax kanga: That last one can be very expensive. Was it at fair market price or did you have to dig deeper? I don't need a number, just a general comment to the question. I had to buy a complete 1950 proof set, to get the level of grade I needed for my last proof Franklin.
Way to go! I've been kicking around putting together a set of Roosevelt's too, but nothing high grade like yours. Would like to see pics of the set or your favorites.
I searched all reasonably available pricing information. Turns out the online pricing guide on PCGS quoted the highest figure. That's what I bid and that's what I paid.
We're in the process of moving so much of my stuff is already packed. And that includes my macro lens. So until we get into the new place good images won't be available. And that's still several months away.
I've got a type set (based on the NGC Registry) that there's only about 10 coins to go. I figure I might be able to afford 4 of them ... about 1 a year. More active is my Braided Hair Large Cents based on the Red Book listings (about 6 to go). There are two set I can reactivate: -- Early Commemoratives -- Capped Bust Half Dimes die marriages And there are two new set under consideration: -- silver 3-cents -- Liberty V nickels Not all will be worked on.
Tell me about it! I've been living out of a suitcase since January. Just got my truck today (waiting two months) and I think my household goods are held up in customs because there's a box marked stuffed animals and there's some concerns that it's taxidermy. Good luck with your move and hopefully it's over soon and you get settled in well.
I found a few MS-65 FT's Even found an MS-67 FT but it was VERY expensive ($1000+). Mine is a matched set; all MS-66 FT or FB
