As promised I re-imaged these two Kennedy's. I managed to get different shots manipulating the light. Let me know what you think: 1966 Kennedy Half Coin #1 1966 Kennedy Half Coin #2
I started digging through the boxes of miscellaneous coin folders and what not that I accumulated when I first started collecting. Pretty much as expected, it is a mini hoard of face value coins. I opened and glanced through all the albums and folders to see if anything was worth promoting to the first string collection. Not much talent in the bunch until I opened this push style, tri-fold album. This guy caught my eye. It certainly didn't look like that when I pushed it in there 4 years ago. I must have had some left over egg salad on my finger. This one had a little something going on, but none of the other ones did.
Need I say more on this one? I went crazy when I saw it, and the credit card came out. NO, those are not scratches on the neck or the left hand field on the obverse--it is part of the toning patina).
Okay--common date, Gem condition, toned, and PL, with a CAC. Does it get better? Any other date, other than the 80-81-82s and it gets a 66 also. My newest Morgan:
They are 100% N.T. A lot of the Canadian small cents during that time (1940's - 1960's) get this same type of iridescent toning. Most end up with greens/purples.
