i need help determining the coin if its bronze gold or just fake and plated, my girlfriends father has been collecting currency for a long time and has a big liter jar full of wheats and steel pennies. well back to the subject. here check these clean photos out!
I think it is real, and brass but I not tell the date. I know I have seen it in the World Coin book......
Liberation medal from 1958. Hard to beleive someone would fake this. From the color it seems like bronze or copper version. There was a gold version, so its all about the weight and diameter, this is how you know for sure.
so my best shot is sending it in to the coin dealer? or go to a gold shop and determine if its gold or not? because i dont have a scale of mine. i need a new one, previous one broke from a box of 200 dollars of nickels fell on it.

You ar egoing to have to find it. I looked and it was not in the world coin book so I assume it is a medal. Try these sites for help... http://www.israelmint.com/silver-medal http://www.theshekel.org/trends.html http://sheqel.info/1-1.htm Hope this helps...
Look through this page till you find a picture... http://sheqel.info/5-1.htm I am pretty sure it is not gold but I could be wrong.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ISRAEL-1948...715?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3e8c55eb found this bronze one, currently hunting the brass and gold one for comparison, they all range from 50-150 dollar for bronze and brass and for the gold it can be up to 700 for the contents in it.
