great question. I will count them tonight. 1,000-2,500 ? actual number tomorrow. you should make a separate poll stating how long it will take to count each persons collection lol. I am guessing it will take me 1/2 hour ? lol

485 total, but only 255 in active collections (that is, not counting an incomplete OFEC collection that I haven't touched in years).

Thanks for an interesting question. Had never thought to count them.

261 but I am counting proof sets as one... I don't know why, but that's how they are in my spreadsheet.

Should I include the 18,000+ Westward Journey nickels that are in Mint bags, Mint rolls, OBW rolls & tubes?

Zero coins, plenty of books and catalogs, though. I do attend as many coin shows as possible and catch and release exceptional coins when I come upon them.

For now, I'm focusing on grading skills, counterfeit detection, description skills, etc, preparing for what will hopefully be a career.

Logical (?) follow up question...what is the face value of all the coins in your collection. Convert to U.S. dollars.

I think this would be a question that may go unanswered. Being a public forum, you could expose members to the attention of unscrupulous individuals. It is never a good idea to expose yourself in this manner. If desperate enough, even a hundred dollars could draw a response from the wrong crowd. IMHO.

I'll go to the bank and get $1,000.00 worth of pennies so I'd have a 100,000 coin collection. Quantity is irrelevant.
