Picked up another toned mexico Peso to add to the hoard. I was also doing some more experimenting with video to try and show luster on coin images. Click the image to see a large version.
Very nice Greg! I like the layout and placement of info about the coin, too. The animated gif is a nice idea, too. I've been wanting to try something just like this.
Dōmo arigatō, Mr. Krispboto! I figure non US coins, a little information is nice to display with the image. I'm always curious about the diameter when I see unfamiliar coins. The animated gif: Overall it's not difficult to accomplish, it;s just more time consuming than I can deal with. I'm hoping to find a much more efficient way to do it. When that happens, I will be glad to share the process. -g
Found this a couple of weeks ago, had no idea what it was so I bought it blind. It's a 1990 Chinese vault protector, 1 oz size
So I finally won an auction for a coin that I have been hunting down for nearly 3 years. I know I'm not the only person who likes this design, and I'm happy to add the lowest mintage MS coin of the series to my collection. It also happens to be from the year I graduated from high school! I don't have it in hand yet, but (lucky me) it is the only example of the coin from this year that PCGS has graded, and it is pictured in CoinFacts. The designer of the lovely female bust is well known among Italian artists. His name was Guido Veroi, and he died at the age of 87 in January 0f 2013. In my opinion, one of the great Italian numismatic artists (and otherwise) of the 20th century. 1997-R Italy 500 Lire, PCGS MS67 (Mintage 43,600)
Wow brg! Congrats, that's a top notch coin for sure. Although, I can't seem to find the horse in the design. Then again, I'm not Italian.
