Or perhaps they'll make another 50,000 of them. Knowing the mint, they won't let a "contract" with their customers stand in the way of making a buck.

They can't. Congress authorized the limits on these coins.

Sure they can, if Congress approves it.

You know how congress works......we'd be into next year before they got something like that approved.........

I could not agree more. I am extremely surprised that the gold coin has unofficially sold out. Never expected it.

Whoa, somthings fishy here. I'm ahead of you in line and they haven't hit my debit card yet. You got relatives in shipping?;)
    Are your cancel boxes gone?

The cancel boxes are still in place but the offering still shows a shipping date of 3/30. I know, I know......don't get your hopes up, right? Still, they did tag the card......

I hope the Kennedy collectors here get the gold one they want. I'm not into them.

On a different note, wouldn't they generate more interest for the commemorative halfs if they were 90% silver?

Yeah true, but since I bought these, I know the mint will somehow mess it up for me.

That's a good sign. They'll be shipping soon.

Most of us want to see a 90% version of commem halves and have been asking for years. That's apparently why the mint doesn't offer them.

It's Congress, not the mint, that sets the standards. We have to write our Congressmen.......
