Thanks George, it's difficult to get people to take a look but, once there, they seem to like what they find.

I work a different full-time job, so it's going to be a long time before I can grow the listed inventory enough to attract collectors at all levels, but that is my ultimate goal. If there's nothing there for you right now, please keep checking in. Someday there'll be something for everybody.

Also, bear in mind that, if a good looking coin is a little out of reach, I offer gift certificates on the site as well. Some collectors might be able to get a bit of help from Santa.

    Good hunting . . .

I have certain dealers on eBay I use a lot. If I see something else from a dealer I don't know I'll chance it if its under $10. I've had real good luck with eBay. It must be a buyers market. It took me two months almost to sell a 2000 NGC certified proof set for $99. I'm trying one more time with a 2002 for same price.

I pay by money order after asking seller if they have a problem with a money order... most of the time they would rather have monry order...

You can post it in the 'for sale' or 'auction listings' section Frank.

i'd buy, as I've gotten many great deals there, but unless I were to sign up as a top-tier seller with piles of great coins to sell everyday, I wouldn't sell, not with those fees. 16% sure sounds ridiculous for a start.

Worse than that is the seller limits. I sell on Ebay and am not amused by them keeping us down.

I started an ebay store when I had a lot to sell. It takes fees from 10% to 6% on coins. There is still the 2.9% paypal, so 8.9 %. 12.9% without the store upgrade. The store is $20 month

I did it exactly the same way you did Broseph, and it's paying dividends . . . it just takes a lot of time and energy, but what doesn't?

So what do you do when a payment goes unclaimed. Simply request an item cancellation? I have waited an extra day with no activity.

FYI: Evidently the seller never opened a PayPal account in order to take payments. For the life of me, I can't understand how eBay would have allowed a PayPal guarantee with it. Anyway, he finally did and the sale went through.

Ebay is a good place to buy and sell if you have store. As a small time seller you can not get to much success unless you have really rare items. Ebay has turned it's back on the account holders that made it what it is today to go after the big business. No loyalty, just greed!! But I must say it is where you sell anything to millions of buyers. And a place you can sell things you could not sell locally. I only wish another marketplace would blow Ebay out of the water. Wishful thinking, but it could happen.

if we all pan in some money we could start a cointalk marketplace. Ebay for coins... That there just might be a million dollar idea

This has been suggested and denied before, that is; using CoinTalk as a basis for another eBay. Discussion is the main and primary purpose of this site, not selling numismatic merchandise or services.

I think a pre-requisite to buying coins on eBay should be to spend some time here first! Maybe that way a few people wouldn't get suckered into buying a stained, scratched proof in an SGS holder boldly proclaiming it's a PF70DCAM thinking they're saving hundreds compared to the NGC price guide.
