Reverse of Tyche

    I can recognize the Greek goddess Tyche on the obverse of this ancient coin. The reverse seems new to me, since it does not look like the ordinary renown ships of that time. Could you please assist me to identify? Thanks.. Charles Tyche O.jpg Tyche R.jpg

    Thanks. I don't have Sear Book. What does the reverse represent? Is this a scarce coin? I appreciate any assistance.

    Coins of Arados are generally more scarce than other city issues, but your coin is pretty worn. I can't imagine it selling for more than $10.

    Not scarce at all. Just not readily available on the market. Coins of northern Greece and the Levant may seem common now, but in reality many of them are at least a little bit rarer than the present piece. Those coins only seem common because those regions are "productive" at the moment.

    Good to know. I'd like to collect a handful of Arados issues, so whoever has them needs to put large amounts up for sale and drive down the prices. :)
