    Hello all!
Just doing some late night coin snooping and thought this looked interesting until I noticed the Mint Mark and started comparing it to other 1916-S $5 pieces. This "S" looks to be floating a little higher than others I've seen, and it is also perfectly clear even though every other "S" has been no more than a blob. Input please, this is not my wheelhouse! Not going to buy it, but if it is an added MM others should know.

For that much money I won't bid/buy unless the coin is slabbed.

There is no way to say one way or the other just from looking at the picture.

Can't be an added mintmark. Only San Francisco made $5 gold coins in 1916. Unless the coin itself is fake, but that might be considered far-fetched.

I'm no expert in gold coins, but shouldn't the mint mark be incuse like the rest of the design? The mint mark in the photos doesn't look to be. Or is that just the bad pictures?

The mintmark is the only part of the coin that is raised in this design.
