A new addition to my collection is the tetradrachm of Nero featuring his wife, Poppaea. Its the only reason I bought it. Was surprised to see when it arrived it was a harlen j berk coin, priced at $150!!! My cost?, $37! History says Nero kicked his pregnant wife in the stomach, killing her and his baby. Poppaea (63 - 65 A.D.) Billon tetradrachm O: NEPΩ KΛAY KAIΣ ΣEB ΓEP AY, radiate head right. R.ΠOΠΠAIA ΣEBAΣTH, draped bust of Poppaea right, date LI right (year 10). This was sort of an impulse buy -- looking through my Jefferson collection I decided I wanted another 1950-D, found that and a pretty nice 1950
1883 Proof Indian Cent (PCGS PR65BN). Just bought this on Sunday. I love the blue elevation chromatics and spot-free surfaces.
At those prices I can only dream of those coins. Seems like Keypto wants an arm, leg and your unborn child.
I've had a lot of recent new purchases lately, one of them is this 1913 Barber quarter proof. A coin normally out of my price range, but Uncle Sam was gracious in my tax refund. It's graded. What do you think the grade is?
Finally got my dimes. The 1917 looks cleaned, the 1920 looks original. Also got my encased 1912 Lincoln from LostDutchman. I really want to see the back of the coin and I can only imagine the crazy colorful toning it has. But I'll never know....
Want to show off my newest project but will have just tease unless you want to go to the album. http://s492.photobucket.com/user/LindeDad/library/Silver American Eagles?sort=9&page=1
