1952 D with a wheat impression on reverse

    The spacing of the lines doesn't look the same. It may just be a fluke that some form of damage looks like it.

  5. I am going to take another look at it but doesn't seem like a damaged area... you would think if it was a pair of pliers or something like that it would show up on both sides.
     
  6. I know the wheat in the picture is a little worn the other side is in better shape

    I wasn't suggesting that something like pliers caused it, but you can see that the spacing between the parallel marks is different. The spacing of the lines on an (actual) wheat leaf are closer together and in a straighter line.

    Pliers wouldn't always show on both sides. They could have used it as a spacer of sorts.

    While I don't know what caused it, I'd say it's PMD.
     
  9. Would make sense I think I found this on another wheat penny awhile ago I am going to look back and see if I still have it . Thanks for the info
