Wow if they have all denominations not just 2.5 and $1 to see all their gold coins together would be amazing!!

Anyone ever seen a case (100 count) of proof silver eagles? This walked in today as well.

    Well, first question LD:

    1) Can I have the darker gold coin sitting on the top of the pile? I like the look of that color. It looks harshly cleaned, so I'm sure you wouldn't mind parting with it...o_O
    2) Say what you will, but a proof ASE is like jewelry and I just love them. I don't give a rip if mine go up in value or not.

Is gold easy to sell directly to walk-in customers? Or do you have to wholesale it out?Too bad Indiana has sales tax on both collectible coins and bullion.

The bullion does move out pretty fast to retail people.

Indiana does have sales tax on both coins and bullion... unless I'm shipping it out of state. Then I am not required to charge sales tax.

Now this is something you don't see every day.... When I first saw the book I thought ohh cool an Indian head set.... then I noticed this guy... The owner had inherited this collection and wasn't even aware that this was a rare coin. He was pretty happy when I filled him in and made an offer for the set. She's not the prettiest girl at the prom... but she's definitely real.

Nice FEC. At least you were honest. Im sure many dealers would have bought it as 1857 & 1858 $ :(

I am not surprised that the set lasted less than 24 hours. Seems like a lot of the nice stuff you get in moves really quick.

Thanks for posting these pictures this is the first 1856 Flying Eagle I've ever seen. With exception of the rim dings I would say it was MS62 but more realistically AU55. I'm no expert but I love it and couldn't ever afford it, but that's why I on CT to get the chance to look at rare beauty.

I still like the 1909 VDB Matte Proof the best. Maybe more than the Flying Eagle Cent.

I'd ask if you know how incredibly lucky you are to work with stuff like this every day?, but I know you personally, and I know how much you love what you do and how good you are at it. And I also know that it's no accident that you are, because you work really hard at it.
