Some of those look promising after a good clean. I would start off simple with a distilled water soak for a day or two.

okay thanks for the advice, I wonder what the other person who helped me identify some coins will think of this?:)

There are many different opinions about cleaning.

You do not clean modern coins, some say you don't clean ancient coins either.

Some say olive oil for cleaning, some distilled water. Some say using tools like dental picks, toothpicks. Some say electrolysis, etc.

You can ask and see what the other person says. I say a light and gentle cleaning at first. More details may come out on those coins.

Use a soft toothbrush and toothpicks if necessary for a initial clean. I have went as far as using a safety pin for more stubborn deposits.

Soak them for a few days in distilled water. Then with a very very soft toothbrush, or even cotton wool dab lightly at each coin. One or two have very very delicate patina, so vigorous brushing will ruin them. Then let them dry, or resoak...depending on result of first soak.
Photograph each coin with a decent camera.......and post individual coins, obv and rev for ID/comment.
I do see a coin with the obv legend DNIVLIANVSNOBCAES I think.........can you guess who?

Bingo! In ancient coins, you must do research. This is your first time. lol

If you feel ambitious, tell us what each means in the legend. I already done that research, so humor us. lol

phew glad I got that right, but imho I prefer the actual paper books vs websites because my memory sucks and I prefer to have the info on hand!:)

I hear ya on that. However, I recommend using both methods, by books and by websites. Otherwise, you'll not know the massive coin databases here, new coin releases, etc. Websites are a good starting point to learn. I used websites first and then went to books. You'll also save money by using some website references.
