I prefer the coin on the bottom. I believe it has a cleaner obverse field with fewer dings in the design I think the reverse is about even on both. The top I would put at AU 55/58 with the bottom at MS 62/63. I like them both and wouldn't turn down either, but the bottom coin is my pick.
I just bought this my first Carson City dime 1877-CC (F103) Type I reverse. PCGS AU-50. The 1877 CC Type I reverse is slightly scarcer than the Type II though both are considered common as a date. I like the color. A separate portion of my type set will have examples of each branch mint for each denomination which will be a challenge in itself in AU or better.
I won this 1950 S Washington at my coin club a few months ago and just got around to getting a pic of it. I am not a Washington buff, but this thing looks nice to me. Anyone think it would be worth sending off to get graded?
Stop it Hugh!!!!!!!!!! That is a B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Morgan proof. I need to take a breather from buying and you keep posting these great NEWPS. LOL. I'd love to personally see your collection. It must be hard to pick out a favorite.
Gemmy Au-50 one the best coin design if you hunting Design Variety! Seated Coins Have a lot to look for 10c 25c 50c and the Dollar.
Tough call I like the strike better on the top and the color better on the bottom I'm saying top au 55 bottom au -58
One of the first coins I bought with my tax return was this rare provincial of Empress Livia. Ive had my eye on this coin for many many months and thankfully no one saw how rare it was or cared, so I was finally able to acquire it & for much less then asking. Shes a tough one to get and usually expensive. Another type of this coin features both her and Augustus, it's more common. Livia (30 B.C. - 29 A.D) IONIA, Ephesos Grammateus Aristeas, magistrate Æ 16 O: Draped bust right. R: EFE ARCIEREYS ASKLAS EYFRWN, Stag standing right, quiver above. 3.8g 16mm RPC 2580
I've been slowly collecting modern coins of the 1930s. Thought maybe I'd just fill a binder. Being on a budget these days I keep my looking to the fine to extra fine examples I see on ebay. I saw this one and of course had to have it.... I'm really pleased with it.
One of the best silver coin designs USA has minted. 1930 last year in MS-66FH is a rare one plus the cost bean or no bean.
