A few weeks ago and just the other day, I have sold 2 coins that were $175 & $200, and both times the different buyers didn't pay and wouldnt respond to any of my messages. I open tickets and get it cancelled, but it keeps others from being able to buy it in the meantime. Is there any penalty besides getting a "strike" against you for nonpayment on ebay? This is getting aggrivating. All the buyer has to do is message me about what's going on, but they ignore me. It's always on my "bigger" items too...($200 is a big item for me)
If you open a case and go through Ebays process, they will get a penalty strike. It doesnt mean a whole lot and it takes a bit of time, but if they get enough of them they get blocked from bidding. I set my buyers requirements to not allow bidders if they have a certain amount of strikes within a certain amount of time. Some sellers get impatient and let the buyer cancel, so they can relist in a hurry. This allows flake to continue to get away with it.
Ebay should charge the final value fee to the non-payer buyer. Let them pay the 10%. See how many no payers after that. Also add this next to their username for 30 days
And we can't really leave negative feedback. We can say bad things in their feedback, but it doesn't reflect on their ratings. There is no warning for others. I like your idea about charging them something. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
If you don't set your buyer requirements like stated above, then you lose. Always, set buyer requirements on your ebay sales. It prevents flakes from throwing out fake bids. Protect thyself, before thy wreckus yourself.
I do. All my auctions have the setting turned on. I guess I get the new flakes. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
The way it is now NO ONE can identify problem buyers. They can only get positive feedback; the only other option is NO feedback but there's no way of detecting that. If you leave positive feedback with negative wording the buyer can get it deleted. Like bkozak said sellers HAVE to follow through with NPB's or sellers will lose a bit of what little protection they have.
I list Non Paying Bidders on this site http://badbuyerlist.org/ at least you can check them out if they bid a few days or hours before the auction ends and cancel their bids and block them if they appear on the list.
Yup, I hate when that happens. One of those guys slip in every now and then, it comes with the territory on ebaY.
I just blocked this guy. He won a damaged indian cent for a 1.00. I lost the coin or accidently mailed it to the wrong address. I apologized and quickly refunded him. I get this email a month later. hello i won ur auction and u refunded my money claiming u lost the coin, i think u should send the coin. or i will leave u a negative feed back thank you - smoke505 I know its not cool to misplace a coin, but it happens. I have been mailed coins that I didnt buy before. so I know im not the only one that has made the mistake.
Ya know, I have had 4 non paying bidders since the beginning of the year. The best part is that I don't have auctions. That is 4 non paying E-Bayers on BIN (Buy it NOW) listings. Since when did it become BIL (Buy it LATER). Oh my bad, they must think it means BIN (Buy it NEVER). But hey, I love having my time wasted and given the honor of having to check that E-Bay actually refunds the FVF.
