You beat me to this. I came back to this thread just to inform Tim that I frequently bring a couple bottled drinks & food. Sometimes it is nice (really nice) to sit down with a friend for a lunch & rest your feet. However, this can cost you $20-$30 and will usurp much of your shopping time. This is when it is handy to have drinks & snacks on hand.

You can rest your feet after the show & finish-off your snacks on the ride home.

Did you read his post to the OP? You can spin it however you wish, but "interpreting his intent" didn't have any variables to account for. He bashed Tim for no reason, and added nothing of value to the discussion. Being that a mod did nothing, I pointed out that his insult regarding how much money tim was likely to bring, or the "frequent absurdity" of Tim's posts is uncalled for; and I did it in a way relative to him. Weak attempt at policing bro, next time be on the right side of the law...

there are some dealers more than happy to show you and others do not want to bothered. I get it both ways.

I really think he was just saying "ATMs don't work for me cuz you can only take $400 out at a time....oh wait that probably would be enough for Tim anyway..." People aren't going to be putting down the OP for not spending more than $400 at a coin show.

My advice Tim is to NOT take your checkbook. Take all the cash you're comfortable spending and do NOT take even one check. I strongly suspect you would be sorely tempted to make mistakes if you are looking at fantastic coins and have checks in your pocket. Just leave it at home.

Tim, take a loupe or magnifying glass, they'll help.

Remember, you're the customer, don't worry about disturbing a dealer.

You are about to have the time of your life. Take it all in and give us a report that will make Charmy and Amanda jealous.....

Okay, let's assume you are right; perhaps he was pointing out that an ATM limit would likely be of little concern to Tim, and if he did, so what? Tim later admitted that this, in fact, is the case.

After two years of hearing about every self-inflicted financial woe, it's not like the guy was making anything up just to insult poor Tim. While some may take issue with his views, actions, and how he spends his money, I do not recall anyone ever putting him down for the amount he may or may not have.

Please enlighten me... what did you add to this discussion other than a much more severe, personal, and unnecessary bashing?

If the mods should have jumped in over the gentleman's rather mild statement, they surely should have jumped in over yours. It is interesting that you seemingly find insults acceptable when you're the one hurling them, but if anyone else arguably crosses that line, watch out.

If being on the "right side of the law" means buying into this do as I say and not as I do nonsense, I'll kindly pass, bro.
