That's some pretty cool dreamin', jello => I like your style, Champ!! ... but that's a 50 cent piece, not a nickel (but same diff) ... *gorgeous*!! => oh, and the Vespasian is obviously off-the-charts!! (very cool dreams, my friend)
Nice 1921 50 Cent; an MS66 one recently sold for $277,300 Canadian ($235,000 + buyer's premium) or just over $250,000 USD!!
I think it's the same one JJ it's a Heritage photo of 1 that on auction April 7-10th 2014.So it could go for more money or stay with the owner as there is a Reserve on it!
The one that sold (about a week or so ago) was silver colour, the one you posted from Heritage April auction has great toning; I wouldn't be surprised if it went for more....more 'eyes' on the Heritage stuff usually.
Ya it's wouldn't surprise me 50-75K gets add to price you quoting . Yard sale season get near today it was 65degree I love to find any Canadian silver from 1921 a Au half dollar hidden by not knowing value . I have found a lot of Canadian coins down south . Today additions are the 1943 KM#439, the first in the series with a mintage of 46,350,000 and the 1959 KM#440, which is the key date with a mintage of only 6,017,000. The difference is the design of the eagle's wings on the reverse. The 1955 was minted with both designs. The 1943 is valued at $20 in UNC and $28 in BU while the 1959 is valued at $75 in UNC and $100 in BU. I paid less than $10 each. See why this is a fun series to collect. I have 10 more dates coming with a total cost of $16.95. That's an average of $1.70 each.
I don't collect much spanish until the later 1800's but I found a need for some reason for these well worn 2 Reales coins from 1721, 1776, an 1801. I have been looking for a reason to get an education on this era of spanish milled coinage and this seems to be a safe way to start. The photos are not very good and the coins look better in hand but still show signs of high mileage.
Not New Some how my link keep dieing add a photo sometimes will give it a new life to link/email update, since we changed format ? 7/6 1874 3pence ?
Earlier this week, when I was at the local coin shop looking at the above pictured 2 Reales coins, I picked up a couple copper Spanish Maravedi coins. One is a 1842 8 Maravedis and the other is a 1742 4 Maravedis. I was not looking for either one but the 1842 was not in too bad of shape and I'm working on educating myself in pre-1869 Spanish coinage. The 1742 is very worn and is now my most worn coin in my possession but it was minted in Segovia and I have always had a great time in Segovia and had the chance see some of the old mint coin presses last time I was there, so it came home too.
Some new additions to the 20 Centavos collection. 22 down, 4 to go. All the keys are in the bag. The 1955 KM#439 was the last key. Valued at $60 in UNC and $75 in BU. Cost was $20. Everything after 1956 cost less than $2 ea. The 1971 KM#441 is the "stylized" eagle. The last design of the series.
