I received the short snorter tonight. She's almost home. Will find a place to sign the note, very full, and send her home. I may keep the coin world mag (I don't have one). Also, there are two buffalo nickels in the package. Does anyone have a problem if I give them to my boys?
The Coin World & the Buffs don't have anything to do with the note as they were just recently added so I have no problem with it.
Finally done then, one last leg and it shall return home. I can only assume Bedford will do an update thread on how long it traveled, how many miles, etc along with laying the guideline for the auction. Im pretty stoked. I wonder if we can do an auction thread where you start the bid out at $.99 and we have 3 days or 5 days to put in our bid, but it has to be more than the previous posters in the thread and responses can only be in dollar amounts to keep it easy. Seems like a fun idea and i think it will raise some nice funds for Peter and CoinTalk
I think this is when we need to get Peter involved, since the short snorter auction is for his benefit. Also, will it be a minimum 10% or 20% bid increase? Rounded up to...?
I agree it will at least take the approval of Peter to do everything proper. Format? I suggest just $5 increments and let it ride. That's $100 or so per page in the thread. Would be fun I think. Doesn't really matter much as it won't be up to me anyway, I'm sure Bedford, Doug, and Peter will work it all out fine.
However the decision is made, I do hope the bill auctions for a goodly sum! A .99 starting point would be scary to me..my opinion would definitely be a higher beginning point.
are those who signed it the only eligible bidders? because i have a 3 figure bid ready, so it can start at 1cent and it wouldnt matter
Bedford, I hope you will consider posting here around the time the auction will begin. I'm afraid of missing the new thread! Thanks, Lucy
I can't imagine only signees will be able to bid on it. It should be open to everyone. The idea is to raise the most money possible. BTW, your measly 100 dollar bid won't even sniff this. Don't try to intimidate us.
I hope it gets a great result. Really fun to have participated in this and glad to see it's on it's way home.
Hot dang! Glad to hear the bill is finally on it's way home. This has been one heck of a fun thread! Nearly 16 months on the road and nary a hitch. A few bumps maybe, but all seems to be ending well. This really says something about the collector community we have here at CT.
