Ugh, that would be a crown jewel in my empress collection. *Opens wallet, sees moths fly away, laughing*....."Sigh"......
I need this coin too!!!, won't be bidding on this one, i didn't find 10mill in Gold or win the lotto..
Oh sorry, I see ... this coin is the Holy Grail for you chick-collecting dudes! (it must be kinda like the ancient zebra?) => good luck brothers => hey, maybe if you combine your wallets? (cheers)
Well, you can buy it together ... tie your left hands together and then fight for the coin!! (kinda like last beer at a party, right?)
One thing's for certain: Jango always gets his coin... (Jango is my nickname btw for those that don't know)
You would impale your buddy like that? I though we were friends steve! (You'd never be able to catch the Fett-man anyways )
Im really surprised this coin isnt in a museum of some sort. This coin is more interesting then an Eid Mar, to me, just because its gonna rewrite some roman history a bit & for now, only one around. Ive kept a printout & a photo of this coin.
That is pretty cool. I wonder how an auction house even comes up with an estimate for a coin like this... not that it would matter if determined, deep-pocketed collectors end up getting into a bidding war over it. But perhaps even more interesting - what would happen if a second example or third were to turn up soon after?
It would still command a premium. There is several examples Zenobia & Tranquillina Ants. around yet they still cost ALOT and rarely come to market.
I don't like it. I'd need to hear assessments from a bunch of other people who specialize in the period before I become a believer.
Style, lack of mintmark, appearance of metal not consistent with silver coins of the period, reverse inappropriate for a living Augusta, letter shapes on two sides not matching - others? I ask myself if I were in charge of the mint and was ordered to produce the first coins for the wife of the Emperor, how would those coins look? Assuming that they would be a unique reverse as used for Fausta, Helena, Theodora or Constantia, I would expect the coins to be similar in some ways to those issues. It is not. I ask why?
