Your 1948 Franklin half has a finish similar to the laser finish on current silver proofs. Lovely coin!

 

Bought this lot at a local auction got in a bidding war and buried myself some nice coins tho

I picked up this 90% Kennedy half from a coworker.

Neighbours can be holding a lot of coins and token no one knows til asked .
But collection safety is up to You wrong person could be bad so be sure before you spill the beans . One thing grandpa and Dad drilled me on.

 

The same coworker has two 1964 quarters that I'm trying to get from her.

One great thing about coworkers is ya know them somewhat well and can be a great way to add coinage to collection . Copper Silver if lucky Gold.

 

I'm very particular who I tell about my coin collection. I keep it locked up in a safe place where nobody knows where it is other than my close family members. I suggest that everybody else does the same.

I use a few safety deposit boxes some use a safe. Just make sure your cover your bases.
