    Well, we've made it into my string of Lorraine-coins ... I love this sweet coin!!

    AR Gros

    1303-1312 A.D.
    Diameter: 17 mm (verify?)
    Weight: 0.87 grams
    Obverse: + T - DV-X. LOTOR – EGIE. The Duke of Lorraine (in armour), riding caped steed to the right, carrying spear in right hand and shield in left
    Reverse: MONETA D - E NANCEI. Downward sword, cutting the legend at the top and bottom, between two Avalerions/Alerions
    Reference: S.16 (3/16) Bd.1456 (6 f.) FlonII, n° 1-3, p. 391

    The coin is precisely 0.50 grams and 14 mm diameter. I would certainly appreciate your directing me to additional info. I'm assuming it is a real coin.

    My only coin from the 1400s. Had to get a coin of the nation that finally took down what was left of the Roman Empire, from the city in that it all happened, and as close to that fateful year (1453) as possible:

    Ottoman Empire
    AR Akce
    Constantinople mint, struck 1482 (during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II)

    => yup, we've really rocked this thread and we've all manned-up and stayed with it ... sure, it had a bit of a rocky-start, but I'm really proud of you dudes and I'm really glad we're still pressing-on and making it through this pretty cool, an "EPIC" thread!! (bravo, gentlemen!!)

    So => I say let's keep 'er goin for the next bunch o' centuries, shall we?!!

    NOTE => by the way, "EVERYBODY ELSE" => "please" jump-on board and start posting your cool coins ... man, we're getting close to the "money centuries" ... you know, where I'm pretty sure that all of us have an example or 50,000 each!!!
