That coin has a personality that is all it's own. I love how the color seems to hide. Nice coin!

Here is one with color that hides from the camera. Look hard!

I think its leather toning. I have another walker that was claimed to have been in a very old leather couch for many decades and it has the same chocolate brown with some color peaking out but it doesnt have the large patches and bursts that this one has. Similar neon colors though.

Next to Morgan dollars, the walking liberty halves are my favorite, at least as far as coins that have been in circulation in my lifetime. Here is one I own. I was going to suggest to the OP that he buy coin albums instead of coin folders, though I noticed the thread is quite old.

A new arrival, one of four. One of those situations where the Reverse looks to be a point (or two) better than the Obverse.

NGC no-line Fatty with off-center label printing.

Some interesting toning, but a really bad / flat strike in the center Obverse.

Strike is bad on the reverse center too, I guess that makes sense.

45S is noted for a weak strike, very nice old NGC holder

Yeah, where's the other side? (the important side, in this case) ;)

It is a very late die state. My guess would be a grease filled die......but maybe not. Under close examination, you can see a phantom AW. Maybe just polished away like the other no AW's. I bought it off a dealer who sent it in to NGC. He was in close contact with them during the grading process. Several people apparently all looked at it and concluded that it was a no AW. 1945D No AW close up.JPG
