1796 LIBERTY CAP CENT, VARIETY S-90?

    My only opinion is that it is a nice looking Lib Cap. :)

    Definitely not S-90, I'm thinking S-88.

    I really don't want to disagree with Conder, since he is the expert, but I would have said this was an S-89 based on what I could see. Still, it's a tough call as the 88 and 89 are not easy to tell apart on well circulated coins.

    i very much value your opinions about coins. i think everybody on here does. but i have to disagree with S-88. the 6 in the date is too close to the bust on this coin to be S-88.

    Tried using a different reference and with it I would agree S-89. I'm going to have to go over the other reference and double check the image there. I suspect it may have the wrong obv pictured for S-88, because the distance from the 6 to the bust was one of the features I specifically checked. On the images I was using I saw little or no difference between the two. But when I use the Holmes sale catalog there is a clear difference in the distance.
