I finally decided to get one of these coins:

    Canada $10 1914

I bought it from a Canadian dealer for a little over the mint sales price.

The coin is uncirculated but has some bag marks.

It came in a clear circular holder, a black case about 2" square, and a small box.

It is interesting that while the United States produced a long run of gold coins,
Canada only produced dollar coins for 1912 to 1914 and some British Sovereigns.

    :)

Picked this up for my provincial type set, a 1946 C Newfoundland Ten Cent, upon closer inspection it looks to be the high 6 variety (or have I been staring at coins too long:eek:?)

Thanks Angelo, I was pretty sure it was but some days I stare at coins so long I'm sure I start to see things that aren't there......

1936 Newfoundland Large Cent MS65 Red PCGS

Latest from North of the Border. Last Newfoundland large cent issue, mintage 300,000 pieces. Absolutely hammered strike and just a touch of mellowing on the lower reverse, still all within the Red context.

Nice Newfie small cent set Steve:)!
I was just reading about them this afternoon & how the reported mintage is likely much higher than the actual low mintages for 1944 1/5/10 cents:
