Some ebay purchases: 1962 proof half dollar: 1976-S 40% silver business strike bicentennial quarter (the only 40% silver quarter ever minted: 1976-S bicentennial clad proof: 1956, 1958, and 1960 proof dimes: Nicely toned 1943 Mercury dime: All are uncirculated except for the Mercury dime.
At a coin club meeting a couple of weeks ago, I bought my first half cent. It is an 1826, and I paid $2. Granted, the obverse is terribly corroded, and the date is kind of hard to see, but the reverse is kind of pretty. I haven't any talent for photographing copper, but I bet you can imagine the quality of it.
Thinking back, it might have been $3. Anyway, I bid the minimum and the room full of dealers was not interested in topping that. This is probably a good indicator of the condition of the coin. I will squirrel it away into my 7070 album until I decide I need to get a better example. (you should probably keep BST offers out of these posts, as it is against the rules)
My wife's valentines day present minted 100 years before we were married (2007) She likes coins she can actually hold and the price was right so I picked this up. Some other random pickups This last one the pics are the sellers, but I bought this off Ebay as I really liked the design can't wait till it arrives to see it in hand.
And lastly my valentines day present to myself. These are the sellers pics again until I get the coin in hand. 1945 D U.S. Philippines 10 Centavos DDO
